“On moving to Johannesburg in 2011, I was determined to find my toddler daughters a caring and nurturing playschool, something special where they would feel loved and at home.  I was most fortunate to stumble upon the gem that is Little Scribbles.  The limited class size and warm family atmosphere immediately made up my mind – no regular preschool could begin to compare.  My daughters adapted very quickly, made friends with the other children and became very fond of Tam and “Gonny”.  They thrived on the routine of each school day.  Lessons were always well prepared, and evidence of learning was brought home in the form of art, rhymes, stories and songs that my daughters were eager to share with us.  Both of my daughters were more than ready academically and emotionally for grade R when leaving Little Scribbles.  They still fondly remember the fun times had.  Little Scribbles truly is unique, and I feel privileged that my daughters were able to spend their preschool years in such a happy and caring environment.”

Tam and Gonny are the perfect blend of patience, love and discipline all displayed through their nurturing ways.

 

They are observant, reassuring and always ready to provide support and guidance with their expertise.  Their well-planned activities are sprinkled with love and creativity.  My son’s language development since he started at Little Scribbles has been astonishing; not to mention all the other little skills which he has learned. The other ‘Little Scribblers’ are warm and welcoming and were so sweet to their new class mate!

 

Few things are more heart warming and reassuring than to hear the words “OH YAY!” screeched with glee from your almost-2-year-old as you arrive at school each morning!

“My oldest son Harry attended for 2 years until he needed to go to big-school, and during that time, the development I saw in him daily was astounding. Tam and Gonny provide an extremely nurturing and caring environment where the genuine interest in each child’s personal growth is evident. The weekly themes and topics Harry learnt were truly phenomenal, and the best part was knowing daily what the kids were up to, learning about and eating, something not fully appreciated until he moved to a bigger school where you are never quite sure what the kids are doing daily. The best part was the wonderful activities, artwork and baking sent home each week. Having daily interaction with Tam via WhatsApp if there were any issues to be aware of was amazing, and I fully entrusted them to instill incredible morals and ethics into my kids. They take pride in developing a special relationship with all the kids, and they are very aware of each child’s differing needs. Even better was having your child look forward to school each day. I would have no hesitation in recommending Little Scribbles and cannot wait until my youngest son starts in a few months’ time.”

Little Scribbles Playschool is a wonderful playchool situated in a safe and gated community.

 

My five year old attended the school since 2019 to 2020. I found it through browsing internet, as I was looking for playschool that was near home.

 

It was a good decision to take her there.

It’s a homey environment run by two wonderful ladies, a daughter and her mother.

 

I would highly recommend the school because, first of all the numbers of children attending are small and in that way every child is given proper care and love.

There is so much love and caring from the teachers, you will not regret it. 

 

I also like the flexible school hours and the healthy snacks they give to the children. 

They also insist on kids to have water at school every day.

My child has grown so much and there are so many educational activities that they learn.

 

If I were to rate the school, I would give it a five star. The last few years have been a breeze for me and my child.

I’ll never forget the morning I phoned Tam and Gonny in a flat panic because I’d enrolled my
daughter, age 2, at a bigger nursery school and couldn’t face sending here there. Tam was so warm
and comforting on the phone, I could tell then already that Little Scribbles would be the ideal play
school for my daughter. And my gut was right, and they welcomed my sweet little one with open
arms. Olivia enjoyed her first year at school so much thanks to Tam and her mother Gonny. I also
loved the fact that both Tam and Gonny are so experienced with children, they know exactly how to
stimulate them and develop their confidence, while being friendly, patient and kind every single day.
Olivia thrived at the school – thanks to a great mix of indoor and outdoor play, educational activities
and wonderful themed ideas which changed every week. Plus, she thoroughly enjoyed baking
day every Friday and always came home with delicious treats she was so proud of. As a parent, I also
took comfort knowing that Gonny is a qualified nurse, so should any emergency have happened with
my daughter, she was always right there to help immediately. And with regards to Tam, well, she
was always willing to take my calls and SMS’s, send picture updates and just reassure me that Olivia
was happy and doing well. Olivia’s now thriving at a bigger school and I can only thank Tam and
Gonny for the wonderfully nurturing environment they set for her, which allowed her to gain
confidence and thrive.

We have had the privilege of sending all three of our girls to Little Scribbles and what an incredible journey it has been.

A more nurturing, caring school you will not find. Most children find it quite difficult to transition from being at home all day long to suddenly having to head to school every day but sending my girls to Little Scribbles was an absolute breeze – for mom and child  It felt like my girls’ second home – having Tam and Gonny as their teachers and carers put them all at ease from day one.

Tam is incredibly gentle and has a special little bond with each and every one of the children she teaches, whether it be for a few months or even a few years.

We are so sad our girls have outgrown Little Scribbles, but I will certainly sing their praises and recommend them to anyone!

Our family spent 4 blissful years at Little Scribbles! Our second home and our second family.

Both our children started at Little Scribbles when they were 18 months old. From Day 1, Teacher Tammy and Gonny made us feel comfortable with leaving our precious littles one in a safe and fun environment. Our children have thrived in an intimate nursery school with lots of love and attention.

Little Scribbles is a utopia for young children, where their every learning need is met with love and grace.  Our son was at Little Scribbles for two years, and we can only describe this time as "outstanding"; the care shown by Aunty Tam and Gonny was extraordinary, and our little boy flourished!  Every single morning, he would eagerly get ready and run to the car, knowing that his friends at Little Scribbles were waiting for him.  We never experienced a single day where our son didn't run as fast as possible to get into school, often without a goodbye to us parents.  This just confirmed for us what a special playschool Glynis and Tamlyn have created.  You will never regret sending your little one to Little Scribbles.  Thank you for all you do, Tam and Gonny!!
